About me

“I AM NOT AN ARTIST, I AM A PHOTOGRAPHER.”

(Helmut Newton)

That makes a lot of sense to me. Instead of speculating about what I am, I would much rather describe what I do.
I take photographs. And I love it. My photographs are the expression of my personality, of course.
And – thank God – my personality has all kinds of traits.
My first full-blown series is “Timeless Venice”. Some photographs from that series are presented here.
That is almost exclusively monochrome photography and the compositions are always strictly classical.
The predominant mood is melancholy. But this doesn’t mean that I have found my “signature-style”.
The series definitely reflects part of who I am, but as I’m also quite a lively person, I need a bit more playfulness in my photography.
That's why I did a lot of color and street photography in London and most recently in Tokyo. The "Architectural Anarchy" series, which was also created in Tokyo,
is a specialty.
It was completely unplanned, but the bizarreness of these buildings immediately
appealed to my delight in defiance and stubbornness.
